NSF Food-Grade 30% Premix

Price range: $968.75 through $4,687.50

NSF HT1 registered food-grade propylene glycol, factory-premixed at 30% for freeze protection to −4°F. The best heat transfer performance in the premix range. Inhibited, dyed pink. 55-gallon drums and 275-gallon totes.

SKU: 06373 Category:

NSF HT1 registered food-grade inhibited propylene glycol heat transfer fluid, premixed at 30% concentration. This is the highest-performing premix we stock in thermal terms — the lower the glycol fraction, the closer the fluid behaves to water, and the less capacity you give up at the heat exchanger.

Freeze protection to −4°F. Burst protection extends meaningfully below that figure: propylene glycol solutions form a pumpable slush as they cool rather than a solid block, so pipework survives well past the stated freeze point. Full concentration-versus-temperature data is in the technical reference charts.

A 30% charge suits indoor and mild-climate food-processing loops where the fluid never sees a hard freeze, and systems where you need to claw back chiller capacity. Note that 30% is generally regarded as the practical floor for corrosion inhibitor performance — diluting below it compromises the inhibitor package as well as the freeze point.

Shipped factory-premixed with deionised water, so there is no blending on site and no risk of diluting with hard water. Mixing concentrate with high-mineral tap water is the most common cause of premature inhibitor depletion and scale in glycol loops.

Dyed pink for leak detection. The colour is a safety feature, not cosmetic — it lets you trace a weeping fitting or a failing heat exchanger before the loss shows up as a pressure drop. Why heat transfer fluids are dyed.

Typical applications

  • Indoor food and beverage process cooling
  • Mild-climate and southern-region chilled-water loops
  • Systems where heat transfer capacity is the binding constraint
  • Dairy and beverage cooling with no outdoor exposure

Certifications & documentation

  • NSF registered HT1 — approved for use in food-processing areas where incidental food contact is possible
  • Propylene glycol is listed by the FDA as Generally Recognized As Safe (GRAS) under 21 CFR 184.1666
  • Certificate of Analysis (COA) and Safety Data Sheet (SDS) supplied with every shipment
